Bank Gulfinvest was created in 1989 from the Central Bank of Brazil authorization to convert Gulfinvest into a multiple Bank. The bank was a prominent player at that time, even was selected to work as Brazil’s Central Bank Dealer. The Bank was transformed into an investment firm in 1998.
Gulf started investing in real estate developments in 1986, either residential or commercial units, located in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador. Gulf interrupted its activities in real estate investments in 2007 after Brazil Brokers IPO.
The company was established in 1985 to invest in shopping centers. It invested in four shopping malls and sold it to Iguatemi Group in 2007.
The ProScan joint venture was established in 2004 between Gulf and ProEcho, a traditional Rio de Janeiro company of Imaging Diagnosis, for the development of high technology imaging diagnosis, especially Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The company was sold to Amil in August 2007.
